Tension settings

Four tension dials: purple left needle, green right needle, red upper looper, yellow lower looper. A higher number is tighter. The setting changes with the fabric and the thread.

Common problems

  • Skip stitches Fit a new HA×1 (130/705H) needle, size 90, and seat it fully.
  • Wavy seams Ease the differential feed within 0.7 to 2.0, or support the fabric as it feeds.
  • Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
