Four tension dials. A higher number is tighter. The setting changes with the fabric and the thread.

Common problems

  • Skip stitches Fit a new needle and seat it fully.
  • Wavy seams Support the fabric as it feeds, and ease the tight thread one number.
  • Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
