Tension settings
The 460ED has four tension dials: left needle, right needle, upper looper, and lower looper. Fine-tune one dial at a time on scrap fabric.
Common problems
- Skip stitches Fit a new 130/705H needle, size 80 or 90, flat side to the back, and seat it fully.
- Wavy seams Differential feed runs from 0.7 to 2.0. Move it toward 2 on knits, or toward 0.7 if lightweight fabric puckers, and support the fabric as it feeds.
- Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
