This machine takes HAx1SP Super Stretch needles. Use size 75 for light fabric and size 90 for heavier fabric.

Tension settings
The Lock 4 has four tension dials: left needle, right needle, upper looper, and lower looper. Fine-tune one dial at a time on scrap fabric.
Common problems
- Skip stitches Fit a new HAx1SP needle, size 75 or 90, flat side to the back, and seat it fully.
- Wavy seams Ease the needle or looper tension one number, and support the fabric as it feeds.
- Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
