Tension settings

Four tension dials. Turn one dial at a time on scrap fabric until the stitches meet at the fabric edge.

Common problems

  • Skip stitches Fit a new ELx705 needle, size 80 or 90, and seat it fully, flat side away from you.
  • Wavy seams Ease the needle or looper tension one number, and support the fabric as it feeds.
  • Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
