Tension settings

The manual says position 4 works for most sewing. Fine-tune one dial at a time on scrap fabric.

Common problems

  • Skip stitches Fit a new 130/705H needle, size 80 or 90, and seat it fully, flat side away from you.
  • Wavy seams For wavy knit seams, move differential feed from 1.0 toward 2. For puckered lightweight fabric, move it toward 0.7.
  • Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
