Tension settings

Four dials: left needle, centre needle, right needle and looper. Turn one dial at a time on scrap fabric.

Common problems

  • Skip stitches Fit a new ELx705 needle, size 80 or 90, and seat it fully, flat side to the back.
  • Wavy seams Ease the needle or looper tension one number, and support the fabric as it feeds.
  • Thread breaking Re-thread that path with the presser foot up, then ease its tension one number.
